Newton’s 250th Anniversary Salute to Service Parade – May 17, 2026
Join us on Sunday, May 17th starting at 3:00 PM for Newton’s 250th Anniversary Salute to Service Parade. This year’s parade, held on Armed Services Weekend, will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with an expanded lineup and new traditions.
Expect a big day with over 70 floats and groups, including 15 marching bands, patriotic displays, veteran organizations, antique and military vehicles, and more. We’re also excited to welcome back the Aleppo Shriners for the first time in over a decade.
The NCCPA is proud to assist the City of Newton in the planning and operation of this annual event, a role we have held for many decades. Our volunteers are building and entering over 20 floats in this year’s parade, decorating the entire route with American flags, and organizing the full parade lineup of over 70 floats.
The parade will begin at 3 p.m. from City Hall, proceed down Walnut Street through Newtonville, go right on Washington Street and then left on Adams Street before ending at Coletti-Magni Park in Nonantum. There will also be activities along the route, including a carnival at City Hall, live music, family activities, and more.
Come out and be part of this special celebration!
